The Columbus development is located in the Central North Sea 14km south of the Arran development and lies in a Paleocene reservoir.
The field was discovered in 2006 and has been developed as a subsea tieback via the new Arran development pipeline to Shearwater. Gas is exported from Shearwater through the SEGAL gas line and oil via the Forties Pipeline System (FPS).
The field lies at a depth of 9,800ft and contains gas condensate with an initial yield of 40 bbls/MMscf. The initial development consists of a single production well.
